Sushmitha (Baby of K Satyanaryana) 20 months female child was diagnosed with a heart problem when she was just 4 months. Sushmitha’s father Satyanarayana is a daily wage earner. As advised by the Local pediatrician in his village, he brought the child to a speciality hospital in the city from where he had to go back with disappointment as doctors said that the child’s heart problem is very severe and cannot be operated. Father thought it was all over and there was nothing he could do about it.
Later after one year the child became very sick again, doctors said she can be treated through surgery. He did not understand what to do and whom to approach.
Then some known person seeing his pain, told him to go to Hrudaya Foundation which support for the treatment of children with heart defects. The family approached Hrudaya Foundation and explained their situation and submitted their reports. Understanding the condition of the child and family, agreed to support and referred the case to STAR hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The doctors identified the child with Common AV Canal defect problem and decided to perform BT shunt surgery and later another surgery if required. The child was admitted and operated by Dr Jagannath, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon on 8th August’17 through the support of Bajaj Finance Ltd. Few days later, Sushmitha became active, went home happily with her parents.
Father expressed gratitude to the donor Bajaj Finance Ltd., for saving their little heart through their timely donation and support without which they could not have seen their child active again.
